My Mascara Routine

Mascara is usually the only makeup I wear to school (and most other days for that matter), so I thought I would share my daily routine. Because I only wear mascara to school, I like to make it pop. I tend to reach for waterproof mascaras because they stay on better and holds the curl. I also have field hockey practice after school and I don’t want black lines running down my face! This process does change at times depending on which mascaras I have on hand.

Unboxing // Ipsy October 2014

It’s Ipsy time again! This month’s theme was Beauty Candy, since Halloween is right around the corner. I am pretty happy with the bag because it is pretty sturdy and it doesn’t have any crazy colors or patterns on it either. The products this month are so so for me, but let’s just get into it!

Cirque Colors Nail Lacquer

This is one crazy nail polish. There are 20 different kinds of holographic glitter in the shade XX, while the rest is clear. It is also supposed to smell like lavender as it dries, so cool!

The Perfect Blue Nail Polish

I recently took a trip to Ulta and saw that their nail polishes were 3 for $9, so I had to take advantage. I decided to get a new base and top coat and a beautiful blue color. I found that the base and top coats

Fall Fashion Wish List 2014

Fall is the best month for fashion – am I right? I love all of the colors and the overall feel of the clothes. Although I haven’t really been able to wear a lot of autumn clothing because it has been SO hot in Southern California, I can’t wait for it to become cooler! These are a few of the items that I have been eyeing for fall.

Unboxing // Ipsy September 2014

I received my Ipsy Glam Bag for September….Woohoo! This month’s theme was Street Style. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I got some pretty good products so I’m happy! The bag is different from any that I’ve seen Ipsy put out before so it’s nice to see a change in bag scenery :)

Be A Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder

To be honest, I didn’t know what this was at first! The primary use is for setting your makeup. But, I read that you can also use it as an eyeshadow base. It provides from a creaseless look while making the colors pop off of the white backdrop. I am definitely going to test this out the next time I wear eyeshadow.

August Favorites 2014

August ending is bitter sweet because school has started, but fall fashion is quickly approaching. I haven’t tried out very many new products this month but here are a few that I have been loving!

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

I love this because it washes dirt and unneeded oil off your face while taking makeup off. If you ever need a simple go to facial cleanser I would definitely recommend this one!

Unboxing // Ipsy August 2014

This month’s Ipsy bag fell under the theme of Beauty Schooled. This theme definitely fits well, given that many of us are going back to school soon. I’m not exactly sure how the products fit the theme but the bag definitely does. It is orange and white and is shaped like a cylinder, like a pencil case.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

All I have to say is WOW! This mascara is one of the best I have ever tried. It is super black and the brush allows for long yet thick lashes. There is a matching primer for this, however I did not receive it. Overall I would really recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a high-end mascara.

Drugstore Haul!

I decided to take a little trip to the drugstore to pick up a couple items. It is definitely a dangerous trip for my wallet because there are so many thing that I want to buy! I managed to restrain myself (well, kind of) and ended up leaving with just a few things. I have tried out all of these products a few times, so I am going to tell you what I think of them.

EOS Shaving Cream

This product was hyped up because of the well-loved EOS lip balms so I thought I would try it out. I can’t say that I was super amazed by the shaving cream.  I was expecting it to be a little bit thicker and therefore more moisturizing. The scent Pomegranate Raspberry smells great though.

Unboxing // Julep Maven

This month I received a Julep Maven box. This is a subsription service that is mainly nail polish based but they throw in a beauty product every once and a while. This was the first time I received one of these boxes so I thought I would tell you what I think of it!

DIY // Green Tea Body Scrub

I absolutely love making scrubs at home because there are endless combinations of ingredients that have their own various perks. The one I have featured today is derived from a blog called Freutcake. I think we have all heard at least one benefit of green tea in our lifetime because there are so many! But when it comes to skin, some of the benefits include healthier looking skin, protection from sun damage, and helps the skin retain moisture. Besides all of the wonderful things that green tea does, the sugar removes dead skin while the coconut oil moisturizes. Overall this is a miracle working scrub that you won’t regret making!

July Favorites 2014

July was a great month and it feels like it has sped by. I have been loving a lot of products from skin care, to makeup, to accessories. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next month!

St. Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub

This is definitely one of the best exfoliating face washes that I have tried. The exfoliating beads remove dirt and impurities without being too harsh. It has a nice citrus scent and leaves a refreshing finish.

Unboxing // Ipsy July 2014

This month was the first time I received an Ipsy bag and I have to say, I was pretty excited. The theme this month was Sensationally Sunkissed and I think they followed the theme very well. The bag was super cute this month. It is neon pink with scalloped edges, perfect for summer. Overall I was happy with the products that I received.

bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced
 Performance Cream Eyeshadow
 Broad Spectrum SPF 15

I love cream eyeshadows, so when I saw this one I couldn’t wait to try it. It is easy to apply because the applicator is a wand, just like a lip gloss. Plus it has SPF, how cool is that?! I received the shade Divine Wine, which is a taupey brown color.

In the Spotlight // Not Your Mother's Hair Care

Not Your Mothers is a brand that I have known about for a while, but just recently started using. They make all of their products in the United States but can be found in many other countries.  This brand is also quite affordable but produces great hair care products. All of the products have a wonderful scent too.

What's in My Carry On Bag?

I am heading up to my family’s lake house in Canada tomorrow, so I thought I would share what I bring onto the plane. I try to keep the things that I bring to a minimum so that my shoulder isn’t falling off by the end of the day!

To start off my bag is from Roxy. It is super spacious without being too clunky.  It also fits under the seat nicely.

Asian snack mix, dark chocolate acai berries

Snacks!

It’s not a trip for me without a few snacks. The first one that I have is an Asian snack mix from Target with rice crackers, nuts, wasabi peas, and a few other things. This mix is very satisfying and easy to eat on the plane.  The other snack I have is dark chocolate covered açai berries. Let me tell you, they are delicious! The dark chocolate adds richness while the açai adds tartness. How do I know this? I’ve already eaten about half the bag-whoops!

DIY // My Glittered State

I was in search of a project to spice up my room. Of course, Pinterest was the first place I looked. I found this project from The Effortless Chic, but I put a couple of my own twists on it. This project is amazingly easy and adds a personal touch to your room. I am definitely not the craftiest person so if I can do it, you can do it too!

Top 5 Summer Makeup Products

Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream, Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara, NYX Butter Gloss, Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain, Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm

Summer is definitely one of my favorite seasons. I love the warm weather and of course there is no school. I tend to keep my makeup fairly light during the summer while still looking put together.
Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream

Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream

This BB cream has got to be one of the best drugstore tinted moisturizers that I have tried. It has light coverage but still gets the job done. Also, there is SPF which is a summer must. I have the shade light to medium which fits my skin tone perfectly. The finish allows for a shine free face, even without a setting powder.

Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara

Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara

Mascara is definitely my go to product if I’m feeling lazy but I need something to jazz up my face a little bit. I absolutely love this mascara because it is lengthening while still adding volume to the lashes. Black is typically the color I go for when picking out a mascara because my lashes are a dark brown, so that’s what seems to work the best.  I have the waterproof one which holds the curl in my lashes, plus who knows when I might find myself at the pool!
